ततः कॊशं समादाय वाहनानि बलानि च पाण्डुना मिथिलां गत्वा विदेहाः समरे जिताः ॥ १-१०५-११ ॥
'Thereafter, taking along his army and mighty forces, Pandu proceeded to the city of Mithila, and the Videhas were defeated in battle by him.' ॥ 1-105-11 ॥

तथा काशिषु सुह्मेषु पुण्ड्रेषु भरतर्षभ सवबाहुबलवीर्येण कुरूणाम अकरॊद यशः ॥ १-१०५-१२ ॥
'Thus, O best of the Bharatas, through the might and valor of his arms, in the kingdoms of Kashi, Suhma, and Pundra, he spread the fame of the Kurus.' ॥ 1-105-12 ॥

तं शरौघमहाज्वालम अस्त्रार्चिषम अरिंदमम पाण्डुपावकम आसाद्य वयदह्यन्त नराधिपाः ॥ १-१०५-१३ ॥
'Confronting that blazing arrow-fire, an inferno of weapons, the destroyer of foes, kings were scorched upon encountering the Pandava fire.' ॥ 1-105-13 ॥

ते ससेनाः ससेनेन विध्वंसितबला नृपाः पाण्डुना वशगाः कृत्वा करकर्मसु यॊजिताः ॥ १-१०५-१४ ॥
'These kings, along with their armies, defeated by Pandu leading his forces, were brought under the suzerainty of the Kurus.' ॥ 1-105-14 ॥

तेन ते निर्जिताः सर्वे पृथिव्यां सर्वपार्थिवाः तम एकं मेनिरे शूरं देवेष्व इव पुरंदरम ॥ १-१०५-१५ ॥
'And all kings of the world, thus vanquished by him, regarded him as the one single hero on earth even as the celestials regard Indra in heaven.' ॥ 1-105-15 ॥
