तस्मिञ जनपदे रम्ये बहवः कुरुभिः कृताः कूपाराम सभा वाप्यॊ बराह्मणावसथास तथा भीष्मेण शास्त्रतॊ राजन सर्वतः परिरक्षिते ॥ १-१०२-११ ॥

sanskrit

'And the wells and lakes were ever full; the groves abounded with trees, and the houses and abodes of Brahmanas were full of wealth and the whole kingdom was full of festivities. And, O king, virtuously ruled by Bhishma, the kingdom was adorned with hundreds of sacrificial stakes.' ॥ 1-102-11 ॥

tasmiJa janapade ramye bahavaH kurubhiH kRtAH kUpArAma sabhA vApyò barAhmaNAvasathAsa tathA bhISmeNa zAstratò rAjana sarvataH parirakSite ॥ 1-102-11 ॥
