सुनयाद वासुदेवस्य भीमार्जुनबलेन च घातयित्वा जरासंधं चैद्यं च बलगर्वितम ॥ १-१-८६॥
'Through the wise counsels of Vasudeva & the valor of Bhimasena and Arjuna, he slain Jarasandha (the king of Magadha) and the proud Chaidya.'॥ 1-1-86 ॥
english translation
sunayAda vAsudevasya bhImArjunabalena ca ghAtayitvA jarAsaMdhaM caidyaM ca balagarvitama ॥ 1-1-86॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptदुर्यॊधनम उपागच्छन्न अर्हणानि ततस ततः मणिकाञ्चनरत्नानि गॊहस्त्यश्वधनानि च ॥ १-१-८७॥
'Approaching Duryodhana, he received various deserving gifts, including jewels, gold, gems, cattle, horses, and wealth.'॥ 1-1-87 ॥

duryòdhanama upAgacchanna arhaNAni tatasa tataH maNikAJcanaratnAni gòhastyazvadhanAni ca ॥ 1-1-87॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptसमृद्धां तां तथा दृष्ट्वा पाण्डवानां तदा शरियम ईर्ष्या समुत्थः सुमहांस तस्य मन्युर अजायत ॥ १-१-८८॥
'Seeing the Pandavas flourishing in such abundance, a great envy arose within Duryodhana, and he harbored intense resentment.'॥ 1-1-88 ॥
english translation
samRddhAM tAM tathA dRSTvA pANDavAnAM tadA zariyama IrSyA samutthaH sumahAMsa tasya manyura ajAyata ॥ 1-1-88॥

'Observing the magnificent assembly hall, skillfully constructed by Maya to resemble a celestial palace, and seeing it filled with the Pandavas, Duryodhana felt overwhelmed with frustration.'॥ 1-1-89 ॥

vimAnapratimAM cApi mayena sukRtAM sabhAma pANDavAnAma upahRtAM sa dRSTvA paryatapyata ॥ 1-1-89॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptयत्रावहसितश चासीत परस्कन्दन्न इव संभ्रमात परत्यक्षं वासुदेवस्य भीमेनानभिजातवत ॥ १-१-९०॥
'In that place, where the sound of laughter echoed and there was an evident stir, it appeared as if a great upheaval had taken place. Bhima, displaying his extraordinary strength, stood directly in the presence of Vasudeva.'॥ 1-1-90 ॥
