गुरुशुश्रूषया कुन्त्या यमयॊर विनयेन च तुतॊष लॊकः सकलस तेषां शौर्यगुणेन च ॥ १-१-८१ ॥
'The submissive attention of Kunti to her superiors, and the humility of the twins, Nakula and Sahadeva; and all the people rejoiced in their heroic virtues. '॥ 1-1-81 ॥

guruzuzrUSayA kuntyA yamayòra vinayena ca tutòSa lòkaH sakalasa teSAM zauryaguNena ca ॥ 1-1-81 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptसमवाये ततॊ राज्ञां कन्यां भर्तृस्वयंवराम पराप्तवान अर्जुनः कृष्णां कृत्वा कर्म सुदुष्करम ॥ १-१-८२॥
'After a while, Arjuna successfully won Krishna at the swayamvara, amid a concourse of Rajas, by performing a very difficult feat of archery. '॥ 1-1-82 ॥

samavAye tatò rAjJAM kanyAM bhartRsvayaMvarAma parAptavAna arjunaH kRSNAM kRtvA karma suduSkarama ॥ 1-1-82॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptततः परभृति लॊके ऽसमिन पूज्यः सर्वधनुष्मताम आदित्य इव दुष्प्रेक्ष्यः समरेष्व अपि चाभवत ॥ १-१-८३॥
'And from this time he became very much respected in this world among all bowmen; and in fields of battle also, like the sun, he was hard to behold by foe-men. '॥ 1-1-83 ॥

tataH parabhRti lòke 'samina pUjyaH sarvadhanuSmatAma Aditya iva duSprekSyaH samareSva api cAbhavata ॥ 1-1-83॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptस सर्वान पार्थिवाञ जित्वा सर्वांश च महतॊ गणान आजहारार्जुनॊ राज्ञे राजसूयं महाक्रतुम ॥ १-१-८४॥
'And having vanquished all the neighbouring princes and every considerable tribe, he accomplished all that was necessary for the Raja (his eldest brother) to perform the great sacrifice called Rajasuya.'॥ 1-1-84 ॥

sa sarvAna pArthivAJa jitvA sarvAMza ca mahatò gaNAna AjahArArjunò rAjJe rAjasUyaM mahAkratuma ॥ 1-1-84॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptअन्नवान दक्षिणावांश च सर्वैः समुदितॊ गुणैः युधिष्ठिरेण संप्राप्तॊ राजसूयॊ महाक्रतुः ॥ १-१-८५॥
'Yudhishthira, after having, through the wise counsels of Vasudeva and by the valor of Bhimasena and Arjuna, slain Jarasandha (the king of Magadha) and the proud Chaidya, acquired the right to perform the grand sacrifice of Rajasuya abounding in provisions and offering and fraught with transcendent merits.'॥ 1-1-85 ॥

annavAna dakSiNAvAMza ca sarvaiH samuditò guNaiH yudhiSThireNa saMprAptò rAjasUyò mahAkratuH ॥ 1-1-85॥
