यदाश्रौषं नागबलैर दुरुत्सहं; दरॊणानीकं युयुधानं परमथ्य यातं वार्ष्णेयं यत्र तौ कृष्ण पार्थौ; तदा नाशंसे विजयाय संजय ।। १-१-१३८ ।।

sanskrit

'Upon learning that Yuyudhana from the Vrishni lineage, by causing chaos in Drona's army, which had become formidable due to the presence of elephants, withdrew to the side where Krishna and Arjuna were stationed, then, O Sanjaya, I had no hope of success.' ।। 1-1-138 ।।

english translation

yadAzrauSaM nAgabalaira durutsahaM; daròNAnIkaM yuyudhAnaM paramathya yAtaM vArSNeyaM yatra tau kRSNa pArthau; tadA nAzaMse vijayAya saMjaya || 1-1-138 ||
