यदाश्रौषं चास्मदीयान महारथान; वयवस्थितान अर्जुनस्यान्तकाय संसप्तकान निहतान अर्जुनेन; तदा नाशंसे विजयाय संजय ।। १-१-१३१ ।।

sanskrit

'When I heard that the Maharatha Sansaptakas of our army appointed for the overthrow of Arjuna were all slain by Arjuna himself, then, O Sanjaya, I had no hope of success.' ।। 1-1-131 ।।

english translation

yadAzrauSaM cAsmadIyAna mahArathAna; vayavasthitAna arjunasyAntakAya saMsaptakAna nihatAna arjunena; tadA nAzaMse vijayAya saMjaya || 1-1-131 ||

'Upon receiving the news that the blind Kauravas were rejoicing over the demise of Abhimanyu, and in response, witnessing Arjuna's impassioned speech, particularly addressing Saindhava, then, O Sanjaya, I had no hope of success.' ।। 1-1-134 ।।
