यदाश्रौषं मन्त्रिणं वासुदेवं; तथा भीष्मं शांतनवं च तेषाम भारद्वाजं चाशिषॊ ऽनुब्रुवाणं; तदा नाशंसे विजयाय संजय ॥ १-१-१२१ ॥

'When I heard that Vasudeva and Bhishma the son of Santanu were the counsellors of the Pandavas and Drona the son of Bharadwaja pronounced blessings on them, then, O Sanjaya, I had no hope of success ' ॥ 1-1-121 ॥

english translation

yadAzrauSaM mantriNaM vAsudevaM; tathA bhISmaM zAMtanavaM ca teSAma bhAradvAjaM cAziSò 'nubruvANaM; tadA nAzaMse vijayAya saMjaya ॥ 1-1-121 ॥
