तस्मै पूजां ततॊ ऽकार्षीत पुरॊधाः परमर्षये स च तां परतिजग्राह विधिवन मन्त्रपूर्वकम ।। १-९९-२६ ।।

'Therefore, O virtuous one, command me without delay. I shall accomplish thy desire.' The family priest of the Bharatas then worshipped the great Rishi duly, and the latter accepted the offerings of worship, uttering the usual mantras.' ।। 1-99-26 ।।

english translation

tasmai pUjAM tatò 'kArSIta puròdhAH paramarSaye sa ca tAM paratijagrAha vidhivana mantrapUrvakama || 1-99-26 ||

'Feeling pleased with the reverence shown to him, he settled comfortably into his seat. Satyavati, observing him now relaxed, and after exchanging customary greetings, proceeded to address him.' ।। 1-99-27 ।।

tama AsanagataM mAtA pRSTvA kuzalama avyayama satyavatya abhivIkSyainama uvAcedama anantarama || 1-99-27 ||

मातापित्रॊः परजायन्ते पुत्राः साधारणाः कवे तेषां पिता यथा सवामी तथा माता न संशयः ।। १-९९-२८ ।।

'O wise one, children are born from both the mother and the father, making them shared by both. It's undeniable that the mother holds as much authority over them as does the father.' ।। 1-99-28 ।।

mAtApitròH parajAyante putrAH sAdhAraNAH kave teSAM pitA yathA savAmI tathA mAtA na saMzayaH || 1-99-28 ||

vidhAtRvihitaH sa tavaM yathA me parathamaH sutaH vicitravIryò barahmarSe tathA me 'varajaH sutaH || 1-99-29 ||
