ते तव इषून दशसाहस्रांस तस्मै युगपद आक्षिपन अप्राप्तांश चैव तान आशु भीष्मः सर्वांस तदाच्छिनत ॥ १-९६-२० ॥

'And the assembled monarchs threw at their foe ten thousand arrows simultaneously. Bhishma, however speedily checked those numberless arrows before they could come at him using a shower of his arrows as innumerable as the down on the body.' ॥ 1-96-20 ॥

english translation

te tava iSUna dazasAhasrAMsa tasmai yugapada AkSipana aprAptAMza caiva tAna Azu bhISmaH sarvAMsa tadAcchinata ॥ 1-96-20 ॥
