संभॊगस्नेहचातुर्यैर हाव लास्यैर मनॊहरैः राजानं रमयाम आस यथा रेमे तथैव सः ॥ १-९२-४१ ॥
'And she gratified the king by her attractiveness and affection, by her wiles and love, by her music and dance, and became herself gratified.' ॥ 1-92-41 ॥

स राजा रतिसक्तत्वाद उत्तमस्त्री गुणैर हृतः संवत्सरान ऋतून मासान न बुबॊध बहून गतान ॥ १-९२-४२ ॥
'The king, being deeply attached to pleasure, and having been captivated by the excellent qualities of his wife, remained unaware as many years, seasons, and months passed by.' ॥ 1-92-42 ॥

रममाणस तया सार्धं यथाकामं जनेश्वरः अष्टाव अजनयत पुत्रांस तस्याम अमर वर्णिनः ॥ १-९२-४३ ॥
'Engrossed in joy with her, the lord of men, as per his desires, fathered eight sons through her, each of whom was radiant as the celestials.' ॥ 1-92-43 ॥

जातं जातं च सा पुत्रं कषिपत्य अम्भसि भारत परीणामि तवाहम इत्य उक्त्वा गङ्गा सरॊतस्य अमज्जयत ॥ १-९२-४४ ॥
'Each time a son was born, O Bharata, Ganga, declaring, "I am setting him free," cast the child into the waters. After saying this, she submerged into the river's flow.' ॥ 1-92-44 ॥

तस्य तन न परियं राज्ञः शंतनॊर अभवत तदा न च तां किं चनॊवाच तयागाद भीतॊ महीपतिः ॥ १-९२-४५ ॥
'And the children sank to rise no more. The king, however, could not be pleased with such conduct. But he spoke not a word about it lest his wife should leave him.' ॥ 1-92-45 ॥
