तवं तस्मान मानुषी भूत्वा सूष्व पुत्रान वसून भुवि न मानुषीणां जठरं परविशेमाशुभं वयम ।। १-९१-१४

sanskrit

'We are unable to thwart the decree of Brahma's word. Thus, O river, assuming a human form yourself, make us the Vasus, your offspring. O gracious one, we are unwilling to enter the womb of any human female.' ।। 1-91-14 ।।

english translation

tavaM tasmAna mAnuSI bhUtvA sUSva putrAna vasUna bhuvi na mAnuSINAM jaTharaM paravizemAzubhaM vayama || 1-91-14
