नापश्यत परसुप्तं वै भुजगं तिर्यग आयतम पदा चैनं समाक्रामन मुमूर्षुः कालचॊदिता ॥ १-८-१५ ॥

sanskrit

'She did not notice a serpent lying in a horizontal position, stretched out on the path, as she, prompted by fate, stepped over it with her foot.'॥ 1-8-15 ॥

english translation

nApazyata parasuptaM vai bhujagaM tiryaga Ayatama padA cainaM samAkrAmana mumUrSuH kAlacòditA ॥ 1-8-15 ॥
