[य] यत तवं मे हृदयाज जातॊ वयः सवं न परयच्छसि तस्मात परजा समुच्छेदं तुर्वसॊ तव यास्यति ॥ १-७९-११ ॥
'Yayati told him, "You are born from my heart, my son! Yet you do not grant me your youth! Therefore, O Turvasu, your lineage shall cease to exist."' ॥ 1-79-11 ॥
english translation
संकीर्णाचार धर्मेषु परतिलॊम चरेषु च पिशिताशिषु चान्त्येषु मूढ राजा भविष्यसि ॥ १-७९-१२ ॥
'You will become a foolish king, engaging in contradictory behavior regarding righteousness, behaving inconsistently, and indulging in unrighteous acts, like a straw tossed by the wind.' ॥ 1-79-12 ॥
english translation
गुरु दारप्रसक्तेषु तिर्यग्यॊनिगतेषु च पशुधर्मिषु पापेषु मलेच्छेषु परभविष्यसि ॥ १-७९-१३ ॥
'You will suffer defeat among those who are base, who do not hesitate to take the wives of their superiors, whose behavior resembles that of birds and beasts, who are sinful, and non-Aryan.' ॥ 1-79-13 ॥

[व] एवं स तुर्वसं शप्त्वा ययातिः सुतम आत्मनः शर्मिष्ठायाः सुतं दरुह्युम इदं वचनम अब्रवीत ॥ १-७९-१४ ॥
'Having thus cursed Turvasu, Yayati addressed his son and said, "Now, my son, I shall transfer this curse onto the son of Sharmishtha."' ॥ 1-79-14 ॥

दरुह्यॊ तवं परतिपद्यस्व वर्णरूपविनाशिनीम जरां वर्षसहस्रं मे यौवनं सवं ददस्व च ॥ १-७९-१५ ॥
'O Drahyu, accept my decrepitude, which destroys complexion and physical beauty, for a thousand years, and grant me your youth.' ॥ 1-79-15 ॥
