[य] एकदेहॊद्भवा वर्णाश चत्वारॊ ऽपि वराङ्गने पृथग धर्माः पृथक शौचास तेषां तु बराह्मणॊ वरः ।। १-७६-१९ ।।

sanskrit

'"O possessor of the most beautiful features," replied Yayati, "indeed, the four castes have emerged from one entity. However, their responsibilities and purity differ, with the Brahmin being truly superior to all."' ।। 1-76-19 ।।

english translation

[ya] ekadehòdbhavA varNAza catvArò 'pi varAGgane pRthaga dharmAH pRthaka zaucAsa teSAM tu barAhmaNò varaH || 1-76-19 ||
