मृगापकृष्टेन हि ते मृगयां परिधावता अहम आसादिता राजन कुमारी पितुर आश्रमे ॥ १-६८-६६ ॥
'During the hunting expedition, while you were chasing a deer, you encountered me, O king. At that time, I was a young maiden residing in my father's hermitage.' ॥ 1-68-66 ॥
english translation
उर्वशी पूर्वचित्तिश च सहजन्या च मेनका विश्वाची च घृताची च षड एवाप्सरसां वराः ॥ १-६८-६७ ॥
'Urvasi, Purvachitti, Sahajanya, Menaka, Viswachi and Ghritachi, these are the six foremost of Apsaras.' ॥ 1-68-67 ॥

तासां मां मेनका नाम बरह्मयॊनिर वराप्सराः दिवः संप्राप्य जगतीं विश्वामित्राद अजीजनत ॥ १-६८-६८ ॥
'Among them, Menaka, the foremost of the celestial Apsaras, born from the mind of Brahma, descended to Earth. After uniting with Vishwamitra, she brought me into this world. ' ॥ 1-68-68 ॥

सा मां हिमवतः पृष्ठे सुषुवे मेनकाप्सराः अवकीर्य च मां याता परात्मजम इवासती ॥ १-६८-६९ ॥
'The renowned Apsara, Menaka, gave birth to me in a valley of the Himavat mountains. Devoid of any affection, she departed, leaving me there as if I were someone else's child. ' ॥ 1-68-69 ॥

किं नु कर्माशुभं पूर्वं कृतवत्य अस्मि जन्मनि यद अहं बान्धवैस तयक्ता बाल्ये संप्रति च तवया ॥ १-६८-७० ॥
'What sinful deed have I committed in a previous life, that in my infancy I was abandoned by my parents and now, in the present, find myself abandoned by you? ' ॥ 1-68-70 ॥
