लॊक्यं धर्मं पालय तवं नित्ययुक्तः समाहितः धर्मयुक्तस ततॊ लॊकान पुण्यान आप्स्यसि शाश्वतान ।। १-५७-६ ।।

sanskrit

'And Indra said, 'O king, protect virtue on earth attentively and rigidly. Being virtuous, thou shalt, for all time, behold (in after life) many sacred regions.' ।। 1-57-6 ।।

english translation

lòkyaM dharmaM pAlaya tavaM nityayuktaH samAhitaH dharmayuktasa tatò lòkAna puNyAna Apsyasi zAzvatAna || 1-57-6 ||

'Though I am of Heaven and you are of the earth, you are my dear friend. O king of men, reside in the delightful region on earth.' ।। 1-57-7 ।।

'And, O king of men, dwell thou in that region on earth which is delightful, and aboundeth in animals, is sacred, full of wealth and corn, is well-protected like heaven, which is of agreeable climate, graced with every object of enjoyment, and blessed with fertility.' ।। 1-57-8 ।।

pazavyaza caiva puNyaza ca susthirò dhanadhAnyavAna savArakSyaza caiva saumyaza ca bhògyaira bhUmiguNaira vRtaH || 1-57-8 ||

'And, O monarch of Chedi, your realm abounds with wealth, adorned with gems and precious stones, and is blessed with abundant mineral resources.' ।। 1-57-9 ।।

'The cities and towns of this region are all devoted to virtue; the people are honest and contented; they never lie even in jest.' ।। 1-57-10 ।।
