पाण्डवेभ्यॊ ऽपि पञ्चभ्यः कृष्णायां पञ्च जज्ञिरे कुमारा रूपसंपन्नाः सर्वशस्त्रविशारदाः ॥ १-५७-१०१ ॥
'Five sons were born to the Pandavas through their common wife, Panchali, and all these princes were not only exceptionally handsome but also well-versed in various branches of knowledge.' ॥ 1-57-101 ॥

परतिविन्ध्यॊ युधिष्ठिरात सुत सॊमॊ वृकॊदरात अर्जुनाच छरुत कीर्तिस तु शतानीकस तु नाकुलिः ॥ १-५७-१०२ ॥
'From Yudhishthira was born Pritivindhya; from Vrikodara, Sutasoma; from Arjuna, Srutakirti; from Nakula, Satanika;' ॥ 1-57-102 ॥

तथैव सहदेवाच च शरुतसेनः परतापवान हिडिम्बायां च भीमेन वने जज्ञे घटॊत्कचः ॥ १-५७-१०३ ॥
'Srutasena, endowed with great prowess, was born from Sahadeva, and in the forest, Bhima fathered a son named Ghatotkacha with Hidimba.' ॥ 1-57-103 ॥

शिखण्डी दरुपदाज जज्ञे कन्या पुत्रत्वम आगता यां यक्षः पुरुषं चक्रे सथूणः परियचिकीर्षया ॥ १-५७-१०४ ॥
'Drupada had a daughter named Sikhandin, who later underwent a transformation into a male child. This change was facilitated by a Yaksha named Sthuna, driven by the intention of benefiting Sikhandini.' ॥ 1-57-104 ॥

कुरूणां विग्रहे तस्मिन समागच्छन बहून्य अथ राज्ञां शतसहस्राणि यॊत्स्यमानानि संयुगे ॥ १-५७-१०५ ॥
'In that great battle of the Kurus came hundreds of thousands of monarchs for fighting against one another.' ॥ 1-57-105 ॥
