तथेत्य उक्त्वा परदुद्राव स चास्तीकॊ मुदा युतः कृत्वा सवकार्यम अतुलं तॊषयित्वा च पार्थिवम ॥ १-५३-१६ ॥
'And Astika said, 'yes' and then returned home in great joy, having achieved his great end after gratifying the monarch.' ॥ 1-53-16 ॥
english translation
स गत्वा परमप्रीतॊ मातरं मातुलं च तम अभिगम्यॊपसंगृह्य यथावृत्तं नयवेदयत ॥ १-५३-१७ ॥
'And returning in joy to his uncle and mother and touching their feet, he recounted to them everything as it had happened.' ॥ 1-53-17 ॥
english translation
एतच छरुत्वा परीयमाणाः समेता; ये तत्रासन पन्नगा वीतमॊहाः त आस्तीके वै परीतिमन्तॊ बभूवुर; ऊचुश चैनं वरम इष्टं वृणीष्व ॥ १-५३-१८ ॥
'Sauti continued, 'Hearing all he had said, the snakes that had come thither became very much delighted, and their fears were allayed. They were much pleased with Astika and asked him to solicit a boon.' ॥ 1-53-18 ॥

भूयॊ भूयः सर्वशस ते ऽबरुवंस तं; किं ते परियं करवामॊ ऽदय विद्वन परीता वयं मॊक्षिताश चैव सर्वे; कामं किं ते करवामॊ ऽदय वत्स ॥ १-५३-१९ ॥
'The snakes, expressing their gratitude, said, 'O learned one, how may we repay your kindness? We are truly grateful, having all been saved by you. What can we do for you, O noble soul!'' ॥ 1-53-19 ॥
english translation
[आ] सायंप्रातः सुप्रसन्नात्म रूपा; लॊके विप्रा मानवाश चेतरे ऽपि धर्माख्यानं ये वदेयुर ममेदं; तेषां युष्मद्भ्यॊ नैव किं चिद भयं सयात ॥ १-५३-२० ॥
'Astika declared, "Those Brahmanas and others who, in the morning or evening, read with joy and attentiveness the sacred account of my deed, should have no fear from any of you."' ॥ 1-53-20 ॥
