उच्छैः शरवाः सॊ ऽशवराजॊ यन मिथ्या न कृतॊ मम विनता निमित्तं पणिते दासभावाय पुत्रकाः ॥ १-४९-६ ॥

'Addressing the snakes she said, 'As ye have refused to falsely represent Uchchaihsravas, the prince of horses, for bringing about Vinata's bondage according to the wager.' ॥ 1-49-6 ॥

ucchaiH zaravAH sò 'zavarAjò yana mithyA na kRtò mama vinatA nimittaM paNite dAsabhAvAya putrakAH ॥ 1-49-6 ॥

'So, with Vayu as his charioteer, he will burn all of you in Janamejaya's sacrifice. Perishing in that ritual, you shall proceed to the realm of the unredeemed spirits.' ॥ 1-49-7 ॥
