जनमेजयस्य तं यज्ञं सर्वैः समुदितं गुणैः मॊक्षाय भुजगेन्द्राणाम आस्तीकॊ दविजसत्तमः ।। १-४९-२६ ।।

sanskrit

'Astika, the best among Brahmins, arrived at Janamejaya's sacrifice, which was adorned with all virtues, for the liberation of the king of serpents.' ।। 1-49-26 ।।

english translation

janamejayasya taM yajJaM sarvaiH samuditaM guNaiH mòkSAya bhujagendrANAma AstIkò davijasattamaH || 1-49-26 ||

स गत्वापश्यद आस्तीकॊ यज्ञायतनम उत्तमम वृतं सदस्यैर बहुभिः सूर्यवह्नि समप्रभैः

'And Astika having gone thither, beheld the excellent sacrificial compound with numerous Sadasyas on it whose splendour was like unto that of the Sun or Agni.' ।। 1-49-27 ।।

english translation

sa gatvApazyada AstIkò yajJAyatanama uttamama vRtaM sadasyaira bahubhiH sUryavahni samaprabhaiH

स तत्र वारितॊ दवाःस्थैः परविशन दविजसत्तमः अभितुष्टाव तं यज्ञं परवेशार्थी दविजॊत्तमः ।। १-४९-२८ ।।

sanskrit

'But that best of Brahmanas was refused admittance by the door-keepers. And the mighty ascetic gratified them, desiring to enter the sacrificial compound. And that best of Brahmanas, that foremost of all virtuous men, having entered the excellent sacrificial compound, began to adore the king of infinite achievements, Ritwiks, the Sadasyas, and also the sacred fire.' ।। 1-49-28 ।।

sa tatra vAritò davAHsthaiH paravizana davijasattamaH abhituSTAva taM yajJaM paravezArthI davijòttamaH || 1-49-28 ||
