तेनेह कषुधितेनाद्य शरान्तेन च तपस्विना अजानता वरतम इदं कृतम एतद असंशयम ॥ १-३७-२६ ॥
'That penance-practising monarch was fatigued and oppressed with hunger. Ignorant of my vow (of silence) he did this.' ॥ 1-37-26 ॥

तस्माद इदं तवया बाल्यात सहसा दुष्कृतं कृतम न हय अर्हति नृपः शापम अस्मत्तः पुत्र सर्वथा ॥ १-३७-२७ ॥
'Why have you, in your youthful ignorance, committed this unrighteous act? The king does not, in any way, deserve a curse from us, my son.' ॥ 1-37-27 ॥
