कव ते पुरुषमानित्वं कव ते वाचस तथाविधः दर्पजाः पितरं यस तवं दरष्टा शवधरं तथा ।। १-३६-२६ ।।

sanskrit

'Where is that manliness of yours, those lofty words born of pride, when you have to witness your father carrying a dead snake? O best of all the Munis, your father has done nothing to deserve this treatment, and I am particularly sorry as if the punishment were mine.' ।। 1-36-26 ।।

english translation

kava te puruSamAnitvaM kava te vAcasa tathAvidhaH darpajAH pitaraM yasa tavaM daraSTA zavadharaM tathA || 1-36-26 ||
