स कदा चिद याज्य कार्येणाभिप्रस्थित उत्तङ्कं नाम शिष्यं नियॊजयाम आस भॊ उत्तङ्क यत किं चिद अस्मद गृहे परिहीयते यद इच्छाम्य अहम अपरिहीणं भवता करियमाणम इति ॥ १-३-८६ ॥

'One day, as he prepared to embark on a task related to a sacrifice, he entrusted the management of his household to one of his disciples, Utanka. "Utanka," he instructed, "handle all responsibilities in my absence without any neglect." ॥ 1-3-86 ॥

english translation

sa kadA cida yAjya kAryeNAbhiprasthita uttaGkaM nAma ziSyaM niyòjayAma Asa bhò uttaGka yata kiM cida asmada gRhe parihIyate yada icchAmya ahama aparihINaM bhavatA kariyamANama iti ॥ 1-3-86 ॥
