अपीत्वैवामृतं पक्षी परिगृह्याशु वीर्यवान अगच्छद अपरिश्रान्त आवार्यार्क परभां खगः ॥ १-१९-११ ॥
'And the bird soon came out, taking the Amrita but without drinking it himself. And he then wended on his way without the least fatigue, darkening the splendor of the Sun.' ॥ 1-29-11 ॥
english translation
विष्णुना तु तदाकाशे वैनतेयः समेयिवान तस्य नारायणस तुष्टस तेनालौल्येन कर्मणा ॥ १-१९-१२ ॥
'And the son of Vinata then met Vishnu on his way along the sky. And Narayana was gratified at that act of self-denial on the part of Garuda.' ॥ 1-29-12 ॥
english translation
तम उवाचाव्ययॊ देवॊ वरदॊ ऽसमीति खेचरम स वव्रे तव तिष्ठेयम उपरीत्य अन्तरिक्षगः ॥ १-१९-१३ ॥
'The eternal deity, expressing his inclination, spoke to the celestial being, "I am pleased to bestow a boon upon you." In response, the celestial being declared, "I shall remain above you.' ॥ 1-29-13 ॥
english translation
उवाच चैनं भूयॊ ऽपि नारायणम इदं वचः अजरश चामरश च सयाम अमृतेन विनाप्य अहम ॥ १-१९-१४ ॥
'And he again spake unto Narayana these words, 'I shall be immortal and free from disease without (drinking) Amrita.' ॥ 1-29-14 ॥
english translation
परतिगृह्य वरौ तौ च गरुडॊ विष्णुम अब्रवीत भवते ऽपि वरं दद्मि वृणीतां भगवान अपि ॥ १-१९-१५ ॥
'Vishnu said unto the son of Vinata, 'Be it so.' Garuda, receiving those two boons, told Vishnu, 'I also shall grant thee a boon;' ॥ 1-29-15 ॥
