अनुपम बलवीर्यतेजसॊ; धृतमनसः परिरक्षणे ऽमृतस्य असुरपुरविदारणाः सुरा; जवलनसमिद्ध वपुः परकाशिनः ॥ १-१६-४६ ॥
'And the gods, of incomparable strength, energy, and splendour, resolved to protect the amrita. Capable of splitting the towns of the Asuras, all displayed themselves in forms resplendent as the fire.' ॥ 1-26-46 ॥

इति समरवरं सुरास्थितं; परिघसहस्रशतैः समाकुलम विगलितम इव चाम्बरान्तरे; तपन मरीचिविभासितं बभौ ॥ १-१६-४७ ॥
'And in consequence of the gods standing there, that (would be) battle-field, owing to hundreds of thousands of maces furnished with iron spikes, shone like another firmament illumined by the rays of the Sun.' ॥ 1-26-47 ॥
