कश्यपस्य मुनेः पुत्रॊ विनतायाश च खेचरः हर्तुं सॊमम अनुप्राप्तॊ बलवान कामरूपवान ॥ १-१६-३६ ॥
'The son of Kasyapa and Vinata, a celestial being endowed with immense strength and the ability to transform at will, is approaching to seize the Soma.' ॥ 1-26-36 ॥
english translation
समर्थॊ बलिनां शरेष्ठॊ हर्तुं सॊमं विहंगमः सर्वं संभावयाम्य अस्मिन्न असाध्यम अपि साधयेत ॥ १-१६-३७ ॥
'And that bird, foremost among all endued with great strength, can rob you of the Soma. Everything is possible with him; the unachievable he can achieve.' ॥ 1-26-37 ॥
english translation
[स] शरुत्वैतद वचनं शक्रः परॊवाचामृत रक्षिणः महावीर्यबलः पक्षी हर्तुं सॊमम इहॊद्यतः ॥ १-१६-३८ ॥
'Sauti continued, 'Indra, having heard these words, then spoke unto those that guarded the amrita.' ॥ 1-26-38 ॥
english translation
युष्मान संबॊधयाम्य एष यथा स न हरेद बलात अतुलं हि बलं तस्य बृहस्पतिर उवाच मे ॥ १-१६-३९ ॥
'Indra cautioned, "A bird, possessing immense strength and energy, is determined to acquire the nectar. I forewarn you to prevent him from succeeding through force. Brihaspati has informed me that his strength is immeasurable."' ॥ 1-26-39 ॥

तच छरुत्वा विबुधा वाक्यं विस्मिता यत्नम आस्थिताः परिवार्यामृतं तस्थुर वज्री चेन्द्रः शतक्रतुः ॥ १-१६-४० ॥
'And the gods hearing of it were amazed and took precautions. And they stood surrounding the amrita and Indra also of great prowess, the wielder of the thunder, stood with them.' ॥ 1-26-40 ॥
