[बृह] तवापराधाद देवेन्द्र परमादाच च शतक्रतॊ तपसा वालखिल्यानां भूतम उत्पन्नम अद्भुतम ॥ १-१६-३५ ॥

'Vrihaspati answered, 'O chief of the gods, O thou of a thousand sacrifices, it is from thy fault and carelessness, and owing also to the ascetic penance of the high-souled great Rishis, the Valakhilyas' ॥ 1-26-35 ॥

english translation

[bRha] tavAparAdhAda devendra paramAdAca ca zatakratò tapasA vAlakhilyAnAM bhUtama utpannama adbhutama ॥ 1-16-35 ॥
