तं पतन्तम अखं शयेनं तवरिता पृष्ठतॊ ऽनवगाम आशिषॊ ऽसय परयुञ्जाना हरतॊ मूषकं बिलात ॥ १-२२२-६ ॥
'She quickly followed behind the hawk falling with the rat, Uttering blessings for it as it carried the mouse from the burrow.' ॥ 1-222-6 ॥
english translation
यॊ नॊ दवेष्टारम आदाय शयेनराजप्रधावसि भव तवं दिवम आस्थाय निरमित्रॊ हिरण्मयः ॥ १-२२२-७ ॥
'I said to him, "O king of hawks, since you are carrying away our enemy, the mouse, in your claws, may you live in heaven without any adversaries, adorned with a golden body."' ॥ 1-222-7 ॥
english translation
यदा स भक्षितस तेन कषुधितेन पतत्रिणा तदाहं तम अनुज्ञाप्य परत्युपायां गृहान परति ॥ १-२२२-८ ॥
'When he was eaten by that hungry bird, Then, having given my consent, I returned home.' ॥ 1-222-8 ॥

परविशध्वं बिलं पुत्रा विश्रब्धा नास्ति वॊ भयम शयेनेन मम पश्यन्त्या हृत आखुर न संशयः ॥ १-२२२-९ ॥
'Therefore, children, enter this hole confidently. You have nothing to fear. The mouse that lived there was seized and carried away by the hawk in my presence.' ॥ 1-222-9 ॥

[षार्न्गकाह] न विद्म वै वयं मातर हृतम आखुम इतः पुरा अविज्ञाय न शक्ष्यामॊ बिलम आविशतुं वयम ॥ १-२२२-१० ॥
'The young ones reiterated, "O mother, we truly do not know if the mouse has indeed been carried away by the hawk. Without being certain of this, we cannot enter this hole in the ground."' ॥ 1-222-10 ॥
