रुद्राश च वसवश चैव मरुतश च महाबलाः विश्वे देवास तथा साध्या दीप्यमानाः सवतेजसा ॥ १-२१८-३६ ॥
'The Rudras and the Vasus, the mighty Maruts, the Visvedevas, and the Sadhyas, all resplendent with their own energy.' ॥ 1-218-36 ॥
english translation
rudrAza ca vasavaza caiva marutaza ca mahAbalAH vizve devAsa tathA sAdhyA dIpyamAnAH savatejasA ॥ 1-218-36 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptएते चान्ये च बहवॊ देवास तौ पुरुषॊत्तमौ कृष्ण पार्थौ जिघांसन्तः परतीयुर विविधायुधाः ॥ १-२१८-३७ ॥
'These and many other celestials, armed with various weapons, rushed towards Krishna and Arjuna, intent on striking them down.' ॥ 1-218-37 ॥
english translation
ete cAnye ca bahavò devAsa tau puruSòttamau kRSNa pArthau jighAMsantaH paratIyura vividhAyudhAH ॥ 1-218-37 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptतत्राद्भुतान्य अदृश्यन्त निमित्तानि महाहवे युगान्तसमरूपाणि भूतॊत्सादाय भारत ॥ १-२१८-३८ ॥
'In that great conflict, remarkable portents were seen all around, bewildering every creature, resembling those seen at the time of universal dissolution.' ॥ 1-218-38 ॥

tatrAdbhutAnya adRzyanta nimittAni mahAhave yugAntasamarUpANi bhUtòtsAdAya bhArata ॥ 1-218-38 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptतथा तु दृष्ट्वा संरब्धं शक्रं देवैः सहाच्युतौ अभीतौ युधि दुर्धर्षौ तस्थतुः सज्जकार्मुकौ ॥ १-२१८-३९ ॥
'But Arjuna and Krishna, fearless and invincible in battle, calmly waited with bows in hand, observing Indra and the other celestial beings ready for combat.' ॥ 1-218-39 ॥

tathA tu dRSTvA saMrabdhaM zakraM devaiH sahAcyutau abhItau yudhi durdharSau tasthatuH sajjakArmukau ॥ 1-218-39 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptआगतांश चैव तान दृष्ट्वा देवान एकैकशस ततः नयवारयेतां संक्रुद्धौ बाणैर वर्जॊपमैस तदा ॥ १-२१८-४० ॥
'Skilled in battle, those heroes, filled with wrath, fiercely attacked the advancing host of celestial beings with arrows as potent as thunderbolts of their own.' ॥ 1-218-40 ॥

AgatAMza caiva tAna dRSTvA devAna ekaikazasa tataH nayavArayetAM saMkruddhau bANaira varjòpamaisa tadA ॥ 1-218-40 ॥
