कालदण्डं यमॊ राजा शिबिकां च धनेश्वरः पाशं च वरुणस तत्र विचक्रं च तथा शिवः ॥ १-२१८-३१ ॥
'Yama, O king, wielded the death-dealing mace, while Kuvera grasped his spiked club. Varuna held his noose and beautiful missile, and Skanda (Kartikeya) stood motionless like the mountain of Meru, holding his long lance.' ॥ 1-218-31 ॥
