तां च मायां तदा दृष्ट्वा घॊरां नागेन वञ्चितः दविधा तरिधा च चिच्छेद खगतान एव भारत ॥ १-२१८-१० ॥

'During those fleeting moments, Ashvasena successfully escaped. Enraged by the serpent's illusory display, Arjuna swiftly severed every creature attempting to flee through the skies into two, three, or more pieces.' ॥ 1-218-10 ॥
