अथाब्रवीत पुष्कराक्षः परहसन्न इव भारत वनेचरस्य किम इदं कामेनालॊड्यते मनः ॥ १-२११-१६ ॥
'Then, with a smile resembling that of the lotus-eyed one (Krishna), O Bharata, Arjuna spoke: "Why does the mind of a forest dweller become captivated by desire?"' ॥ 1-211-16 ॥
english translation
ममैषा भगिनी पार्थ सारणस्य सहॊदरा यदि ते वर्तते बुद्धिर वक्ष्यामि पितरं सवयम ॥ १-२११-१७ ॥
'"This is my sister, O Partha, and the uterine sister of Sarana. Her name is Bhadra, the beloved daughter of my father. Tell me if your heart is set on her, for I will personally speak to my father about it," said Krishna.' ॥ 1-211-17 ॥
english translation
[आर्ज] दुहिता वसुदेवस्य वसुदेवस्य च सवसा रूपेण चैव संपन्ना कम इवैषा न मॊहयेत ॥ १-२११-१८ ॥
'Arjuna replied, "She is Vasudeva's daughter and Krishna's sister, adorned with such beauty. Whom can she not fascinate?"' ॥ 1-211-18 ॥
english translation
कृतम एव तु कल्याणं सर्वं मम भवेद धरुवम यदि सयान मम वार्ष्णेयी महिषीयं सवसा तव ॥ १-२११-१९ ॥
'"If your sister, this maiden of the Vrishni race, becomes my wife, then surely I will attain prosperity in everything," said Arjuna.' ॥ 1-211-19 ॥
english translation
पराप्तौ तु क उपायः सयात तद बरवीहि जनार्दन आस्थास्यामि तथा सर्वं यदि शक्यं नरेण तत ॥ १-२११-२० ॥
'"Tell me, O Janardana, how I may obtain her. I will achieve anything that is within the reach of man to win her," said Arjuna.' ॥ 1-211-20 ॥
