तथा पर्याकुले तस्मिन निवेशे पाण्डुनन्दनः अभिषेकाय कौन्तेयॊ गङ्गाम अवततार ह ॥ १-२०६-११ ॥
'One day, that foremost among the Pandavas, while residing in that region amidst those Brahmanas, descended into the Ganges as usual to perform his ablutions.' ॥ 1-206-11 ॥
english translation
तत्राभिषेकं कृत्वा स तर्पयित्वा पितामहान उत्तितीर्षुर जलाद राजन्न अग्निकार्यचिकीर्षया ॥ १-२०६-१२ ॥
'After completing his ablutions and offering water oblations to his deceased ancestors, the mighty-armed hero was preparing to rise from the stream to perform his sacrificial rites before the fire.' ॥ 1-206-12 ॥

अपकृष्टॊ महाबाहुर नागराजस्य कन्यया अन्तर्जले महाराज उलूप्या कामयानया ॥ १-२०६-१३ ॥
'When Ulupi, the daughter of the king of the Nagas, driven by desire, pulled him into the depths of the water, O king.' ॥ 1-206-13 ॥

ददर्श पाण्डवस तत्र पावकं सुसमाहितम कौरव्यस्याथ नागस्य भवने परमार्चिते ॥ १-२०६-१४ ॥
'As fate would have it, the son of Pandu was carried into the splendid palace of Kauravya, the king of the Nagas.' ॥ 1-206-14 ॥

तत्राग्निकार्यं कृतवान कुन्तीपुत्रॊ धनंजयः अशङ्कमानेन हुतस तेनातुष्यद धुताशनः ॥ १-२०६-१५ ॥
'Arjuna saw a sacrificial fire specifically kindled for him. Observing this, Dhananjaya, the son of Kunti, performed his rites with deep devotion.' ॥ 1-206-15 ॥
