अनापृच्छ्य च राजानं गते मयि न संशयः अजातशत्रॊर नृपतेर मम चैवाप्रियं भवेत ।। १-२०५-१६ ।।

sanskrit

'If disregarding the king, I enter the chamber, undoubtedly I would be acting untruthfully towards a king who has no enemies.' ।। 1-205-16 ।।

anApRcchya ca rAjAnaM gate mayi na saMzayaH ajAtazatròra nRpatera mama caivApriyaM bhaveta || 1-205-16 ||

'By entering the chamber, I again risk the penalty of exile in the woods. Yet, I must disregard everything. I care not if I incur sin by disregarding the king. I care not if I must go to the woods and die there.' ।। 1-205-17 ।।

anupraveze rAjJasa tu vanavAsò bhavena mama adharmò vA mahAna astu vane vA maraNaM mama zarIrasyApi nAzena dharma eva viziSyate || 1-205-17 ||

'Dhananjaya arrived at this resolution: 'Virtue is superior to the body and endures even after the body has perished!' With this conviction, he entered the chamber and conversed with Yudhishthira.'' ।। 1-205-18 ।।

'Coming out with his bow, he cheerfully addressed the Brahmana, saying, "Proceed, O Brahmana, swiftly, so that those wretched robbers do not get far ahead of us.' ।। 1-205-19 ।।

dhanura AdAya saMhRSTò barAhmaNaM paratyabhASata barAhmaNAgamyatAM zIghraM yAvata paradhanaiSiNaH || 1-205-19 ||
