[ज] एवं संप्राप्य राज्यं तद इन्द्रप्रस्थे तपॊधन अत ऊर्ध्वं महात्मानः किम अकुर्वन्त पाण्डवाः ॥ १-२००-१ ॥

'Janamejaya asked, "O one endowed with ascetic wealth, what did those high-souled ones, my illustrious grandsires, the Pandavas, do after obtaining the kingdom of Indraprastha?"' ॥ 1-200-1 ॥

सर्व एव महात्मानः पूर्वे मम पितामहाः दरौपदी धर्मपत्नी च कथं तान अन्ववर्तत ॥ १-२००-२ ॥

'All my great-souled forefathers, And Draupadi, the wife of dharma (or Yudhishthira) - how did she follow them?' ॥ 1-200-2 ॥

sarva eva mahAtmAnaH pUrve mama pitAmahAH daraupadI dharmapatnI ca kathaM tAna anvavartata ॥ 1-200-2 ॥

कथं वा पञ्च कृष्णायाम एकस्यां ते नराधिपाः वर्तमाना महाभागा नाभिद्यन्त परस्परम ॥ १-२००-३ ॥

'Moreover, how did no dissensions arise among those illustrious rulers of men, all sharing one wife, Krishna? And how did they not have any conflicts among themselves?' ॥ 1-200-3 ॥

शरॊतुम इच्छाम्य अहं सर्वं विस्तरेण तपॊधन तेषां चेष्टितम अन्यॊन्यं युक्तानां कृष्णया तया ॥ १-२००-४ ॥

'O sage, endowed with ascetic knowledge, I wish to hear in detail about the interactions among those rulers of men after their union with Krishna.' ॥ 1-200-4 ॥

[वै] धृतराष्ट्राभ्यनुज्ञाताः कृष्णया सह पाण्डवाः रेमिरे पुरुषव्याघ्राः पराप्तराज्याः परंतपाः ॥ १-२००-५ ॥

'Vaisampayana said, "Those destroyers of enemies, the Pandavas, having obtained their kingdom, lived joyfully and happily at Khandavaprastha with Krishna, as commanded by Dhritarashtra."' ॥ 1-200-5 ॥
