तं दृष्ट्वा शरणं जग्मुः परजाः सर्वा विभावसुम परणिपत्याब्रुवंश चैनम आसीनं विश्वरूपिणम ॥ १-२०-६ ॥
'With a fierce and thunderous roar, he appeared as formidable as the fire of the second Ocean. Witnessing this, all the deities sought refuge in Vibhavasu (Agni) and reverently bowed down to the deity adorned with manifold forms.' ॥ 1-20-6 ॥
english translation
अग्ने मा तवं परवर्धिष्ठाः कच चिन नॊ न दिधक्षसि असौ हि राशिः सुमहान समिद्धस तव सर्पति ॥ १-२०-७ ॥
'Addressing Agni, they said, "O Agni, restrain the expansion of your form! Are you set to engulf us? Behold, the extensive blaze from your flames is rapidly spreading!"' ॥ 1-20-7 ॥
english translation
[आ] नैतद एवं यथा यूयं मन्यध्वम असुरार्दनाः गरुडॊ बलवान एष मम तुल्यः सवतेजसा ॥ १-२०-८ ॥
'Agni responded, "O tormentors of the Asuras, it is not as you presume. This is Garuda, possessed of immense strength and radiance equal to mine, endowed with great energy, and born to bring joy to Vinata."' ॥ 1-20-8 ॥

[सू] एवम उक्तास तगॊ गत्वा गरुडं वाग्भिर अस्तुवन अदूराद अभ्युपेत्यैनं देवाः सर्षिगणास तदा ॥ १-२०-९ ॥
'Thus addressed, they went to Garuda and praised him with words. Approaching him closely, the gods and groups of sages then spoke.' ॥ 1-20-9 ॥

तवम ऋषिस तवं महाभागस तवं देवः पतगेश्वरः तवं परभुस तपन परख्यस तवं नस तराणम अनुत्तमम ॥ १-२०-१० ॥
'You are the sage, you are the greatly fortunate one, you are the divine lord of winged creatures, you are the supreme master, you are the transcendent ascetic, you are the ultimate refuge for us.' ॥ 1-20-10 ॥
