पार्थस्य वनवासश च उलूप्या पथि संगमः पुण्यतीर्थानुसंयानं बभ्रु वाहन जन्म च ॥ १-२-९१ ॥
'This Parva then treats the departure of Arjuna for the forest according to the vow, he having seen Draupadi and Yudhishthira sitting together as he entered the chamber to take out arms for delivering the kine of a certain BrahmanaThis parva then describes Arjuna's meeting on the way with Ulupi, the daughter of a Naga (serpent);' ॥ 1-2-91 ॥

pArthasya vanavAsaza ca ulUpyA pathi saMgamaH puNyatIrthAnusaMyAnaM babhru vAhana janma ca ॥ 1-2-91 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptदवारकायां सुभद्रा च कामयानेन कामिनी वासुदेवस्यानुमते पराप्ता चैव किरीटिना ॥ १-२-९२ ॥
'In Dwaraka, Subhadra, the desiring enchantress, By the consent of Vasudeva, and through the valorous one with a crown, she won.' ॥ 1-2-92 ॥

'The burning of the forest of Khandava; the rescue of Maya by Arjuna, and the escape of the serpent.' ॥ 1-2-93 ॥

"The birth of Abhimanyu in Subhadra, the one with the utmost brilliance, My liberation from the fiery serpent's coil, and the release of the serpent itself,and the begetting of a son by that best of Rishis, Mandapala, in the womb of the bird Sarangi." ॥ 1-2-94 ॥

abhimanyòH subhadrAyAM janma còttamatejasaH mayasya mòkSò javalanAda bhujaMgasya ca mòkSaNama maharSera mandapAlasya zArGgyaM tanayasaMbhavaH ॥ 1-2-94 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptइत्य एतद आधि पर्वॊक्तं परथमं बहुविस्तरम अध्यायानां शते दवे तु संखाते परमर्षिणा अष्टादशैव चाध्याया वयासेनॊत्तम तेजसा ॥ १-२-९५ ॥
'This parva is divided by Vyasa into two hundred and twenty-seven chapters.These two hundred and twenty-seven chapters contain eight thousand eight hundred and eighty-four slokas.' ॥ 1-2-95 ॥
