विचित्रवीर्यस्य तथा राज्ये संप्रतिपादनम धर्मस्य नृषु संभूतिर अणी माण्डव्य शापजा ॥ १-२-८१ ॥

' The birth of Dharma among men in consequence of the curse of Animondavya; the births of Dhritarashtra and Pandu through the potency of Vyasa's blessings and also the birth of the Pandavas; ' ॥ 1-2-82 ॥

वारणावत यात्रा च मन्त्रॊ दुर्यॊधनस्य च विदुरस्य च वाक्येन सुरुङ्गॊपक्रम करिया ॥ १-२-८३ ॥

' Duryodhana's schemes to dispatch the sons of Pandu to Varanavata, along with the sinister machinations of Dhritarashtra's sons against the Pandavas. Subsequently, Vidura, a staunch supporter of the Pandavas, provides wise counsel to Yudhishthira in the foreign tongue, advising on the strategic digging of a pit. ' ॥ 1-2-83 ॥

' The encounter with the formidable Hidimba in the dense forest by the Pandavas, and the emergence of Ghatothkacha, is vividly recounted in this narrative. ' ॥ 1-2-84 ॥

अज्ञातचर्या पाण्डूनां वासॊ बराह्मण वेश्मनि बकस्य निधनं चैव नागराणां च विस्मयः ॥ १-२-८५ ॥

' The meeting of the Pandavas with Vyasa and by his advice their stay in disguise in the house of a Brahmana in the city of Ekachakra; the destruction of the Asura Vaka, and the amazement of the populace at the sight; ' ॥ 1-2-85 ॥
