इतिहासॊत्तमे हय अस्मिन्न अर्पिता बुद्धिर उत्तमा खरव्यञ्जनयॊः कृत्स्ना लॊकवेदाश्रयेव वाक ।। १-२-३२ ।।

sanskrit

'As masters of good lineage are ever attended upon by servants desirous of preferment so is the Bharata cherished by all poets. As the words constituting the several branches of knowledge appertaining to the world and the Veda display only vowels and consonants, so this excellent history displayed only the highest wisdom.'।। 1-2-32 ।।

english translation

itihAsòttame haya asminna arpitA buddhira uttamA kharavyaJjanayòH kRtsnA lòkavedAzrayeva vAka || 1-2-32 ||
