इतिहासॊत्तमाद अस्माज जायन्ते कवि बुद्धयः पञ्चभ्य इव भूतेभ्यॊ लॊकसंविधयस तरयः ॥ १-२-२३७ ॥

sanskrit

' As the formation of the three worlds proceedeth from the five elements, so do the inspirations of all poets proceed from this excellent composition.' ॥ 1-2-237 ॥

english translation

itihAsòttamAda asmAja jAyante kavi buddhayaH paJcabhya iva bhUtebhyò lòkasaMvidhayasa tarayaH ॥ 1-2-237 ॥
