स वृद्धबालम आदाय दवारवत्यास ततॊ जनम ददर्शापदि कष्टायां गाण्डीवस्य पराभवम ॥ १-२-२२६ ॥

'Then as he was journeying from Dwaraka with the women and children, the old and the decrepit--the remnants of the Yadu race--he was met on the way by a heavy calamity.' ॥ 1-2-226 ॥
