अत ऊर्ध्वं तु विज्ञेयम आनुशासनम उत्तमम यत्र परकृतिम आपन्नः शरुत्वा धर्मविनिश्चयम भीष्माद भागीरथी पुत्रात कुरुराजॊ युधिष्ठिरः ॥ १-२-२०१ ॥
'Next in order is the excellent Anusasana Parva. In it is described how Yudhishthira, the king of the Kurus, was reconciled to himself on hearing the exposition of duties by Bhishma, the son of Bhagirathi (Vidura), received profound insights into righteous conduct.' ॥ 1-2-201 ॥

वयवहारॊ ऽतर कार्त्स्न्येन धर्मार्थीयॊ निदर्शितः विविधानां च दानानां फलयॊगाः पृथग्विधाः ॥ १-२-२०२ ॥
'This Parva treats rules in detail and of Dharma and Artha; then the rules of charity and its merits; then the qualifications of donees.' ॥ 1-2-202 ॥

तथा पात्रविशेषाश च दानानां च परॊ विधिः आचार विधियॊगश च सत्यस्य च परा गतिः ॥ १-२-२०३ ॥
'Similarly, the specific eligibility criteria for recipients and the rules governing donations, as well as the guidelines for conduct and the path leading to truth, are emphasized.' ॥ 1-2-203 ॥

एतत सुबहु वृत्तान्तम उत्तमं चानुशासनम भीष्मस्यात्रैव संप्राप्तिः सवर्गस्य परिकीर्तिता ॥ १-२-२०४ ॥
'This excellent and extensive discourse, which is also a supreme guide, constitutes the culmination of Bhishma's teachings, leading to the attainment of heavenly abodes.' ॥ 1-2-204 ॥

एतत तरयॊदशं पर्व धर्मनिश्चय कारकम अध्यायानां शतं चात्र षट चत्वारिंशद एव च शलॊकानां तु सहस्राणि षट सप्तैव शतानि च ॥ १-२-२०५ ॥
'This is the thirteenth Parva, the determinant of righteous conduct. In this section, there are one hundred chapters, as well as forty-six chapters, and the number of verses totals six hundred and seven.' ॥ 1-2-205 ॥
