शल्यस्य निधनं चात्र धर्मराजान महारथात गदायुद्धं तु तुमुलम अत्रैव परिकीर्तितम सरस्वत्याश च तीर्थानां पुण्यता परिकीर्तिता ।। १-२-१७५ ।।

' In this Parva, the demise of Shalya, a mighty warrior, is depicted, and a fierce mace combat between Yudhishthira and Duryodhana takes place. Additionally, the sacredness of the Saraswati River's banks and the virtues of its holy sites are extensively elaborated upon.' ।। 1-2-175 ।।

english translation

zalyasya nidhanaM cAtra dharmarAjAna mahArathAta gadAyuddhaM tu tumulama atraiva parikIrtitama sarasvatyAza ca tIrthAnAM puNyatA parikIrtitA || 1-2-175 ||
