दविपक्षगरुड परख्यैर दवारैर घॊरप्रदर्शनैः गुप्तम अभ्रचय परख्यैर गॊपुरैर मन्दरॊपमैः ॥ १-१९९-३१ ॥
'It stood adorned with palatial mansions and numerous gates, each featuring panels that resembled the outstretched wings of Garuda.' ॥ 1-199-31 ॥

'The city was fortified with gateways that soared like clouds and stood tall as Mount Mandara. Well-equipped with an array of offensive weapons, it was impervious to enemy missiles. The walls bristled with darts and other projectiles, resembling venomous serpents. Turrets along the walls housed soldiers engaged in constant training, while warriors lined the entire length of the ramparts.' ॥ 1-199-32 ॥

vividhaira atinirviddhaiH zastròpetaiH susaMvRtaiH zaktibhiza cAvRtaM tada dhi davijihvaira iva pannagaiH talpaiza cAbhyAsikaira yuktaM zuzubhe yòdharakSitama ॥ 1-199-32 ॥

'On the battlements, there were thousands of sharp hooks, Sataghnis (machines capable of slaying a hundred warriors), and numerous other formidable machines. There were also large iron wheels planted on them. And with all these was that foremost of cities adorned.' ॥ 1-199-33 ॥
