आदाय दरौपदीं कृष्णां कुन्तीं चैव यशस्विनीम सविहारं सुखं जग्मुर नगरं नागसाह्वयम ॥ १-१९९-११ ॥
'Accompanied by Draupadi, the illustrious Krishna, and renowned Kunti, they journeyed towards Hastinapura. Along the way, they paused at various places for leisure and enjoyment.' ॥ 1-199-11 ॥

शरुत्वा चॊपस्थितान वीरान धृतराष्ट्रॊ ऽपि कौरवः परतिग्रहाय पाण्डूनां परेषयाम आस कौरवान ॥ १-१९९-१२ ॥
'King Dhritarashtra, upon learning that those heroes were nearing the capital, dispatched the Kauravas to welcome them.' ॥ 1-199-12 ॥

विकर्णं च महेष्वासं चित्रसेनं च भारत दरॊणं च परमेष्वासं गौतमं कृपम एव च ॥ १-१९९-१३ ॥
'Those who were thus sent out were Vikarna, known for his great bow, Chitrasena, Drona, the foremost of warriors, and Kripa from Gautama's lineage, O Bharata.' ॥ 1-199-13 ॥

तैस ते परिवृता वीराः शॊभमाना महारथाः नगरं हास्तिनपुरं शनैः परविविशुस तदा ॥ १-१९९-१४ ॥
'Encircled by these mighty heroes, their splendor heightened by the entourage, they slowly entered the city of Hastinapura.' ॥ 1-199-14 ॥

कौतूहलेन नगरं दीर्यमाणम इवाभवत यत्र ते पुरुषव्याघ्राः शॊकदुःखविनाशनाः ॥ १-१९९-१५ ॥
'The entire city appeared radiant with the lively crowd of sightseers driven by curiosity. Those heroes, beloved by all, brought joy to the hearts of those who saw them.' ॥ 1-199-15 ॥
