दरुपदः शवशुरॊ येषां येषां शयालाश च पार्षताः धृष्टद्युम्नमुखा वीरा भरातरॊ दरुपदात्मजाः ॥ १-१९७-२१ ॥

'Those who have Drupada as their father-in-law and the valiant sons of Drupada, including Dhristadyumna and others of Prishata's lineage, as their brothers-in-law, are indeed invincible.' ॥ 1-197-21 ॥

सॊ ऽशक्यतां च विज्ञाय तेषाम अग्रेण भारत दायाद्यतां च धर्मेण सम्यक तेषु समाचर ॥ १-१९७-२२ ॥

'Bear in mind, O monarch, that their right to the kingdom precedes yours; therefore, conduct yourself virtuously towards them.' ॥ 1-197-22 ॥

sò 'zakyatAM ca vijJAya teSAma agreNa bhArata dAyAdyatAM ca dharmeNa samyaka teSu samAcara ॥ 1-197-22 ॥

इदं निर्दग्धम अयशः पुरॊचन कृतं महत तेषाम अनुग्रहेणाद्य राजन परक्षालयात्मनः ॥ १-१९७-२३ ॥

'O monarch, the stain of calumny is upon you due to the actions of Purochana. Now, cleanse yourself of it by treating the Pandavas kindly.' ॥ 1-197-23 ॥

idaM nirdagdhama ayazaH puròcana kRtaM mahata teSAma anugraheNAdya rAjana parakSAlayAtmanaH ॥ 1-197-23 ॥

दरुपदॊ ऽपि महान राजा कृतवैरश च नः पुरा तस्य संग्रहणं राजन सवपक्षस्य विवर्धनम ॥ १-१९७-२४ ॥

'Your benevolent conduct towards the Pandavas, O monarch, will prove highly beneficial for us. It will safeguard the lives of all of us belonging to the Kuru lineage and foster the growth of the entire Kshatriya community!' ॥ 1-197-24 ॥

'We had previously waged war against King Drupada. If we can now secure him as an ally, it will bolster our faction.' ॥ 1-197-25 ॥
