आश्वासयाम आस तदा धृतराष्ट्रं युधिष्ठिरम परतिजज्ञे च राज्याय दरुपदॊ वदतां वरः ॥ १-१८७-१६ ॥
'The monarch assured Yudhishthira, the son of Kunti, of his support. Then and there, that foremost of eloquent men vowed to restore Yudhishthira to his paternal throne.' ॥ 1-187-16 ॥

ततः कुन्ती च कृष्णा च भीमसेनार्जुनाव अपि यमौ च राज्ञा संदिष्टौ विविशुर भवनं महत ॥ १-१८७-१७ ॥
'Then Kunti, Krishna, Bhima, Arjuna, and the twins, commanded by the king to reside there, were treated with due respect by Yajnasena.' ॥ 1-187-17 ॥

तत्र ते नयवसन राजन यज्ञसेनेन पूजिताः परत्याश्वस्तांस ततॊ राजा सह पुत्रैर उवाच तान ॥ १-१८७-१८ ॥
'Then King Drupada, along with his sons, reassured by all that had transpired, approached Yudhishthira and said.' ॥ 1-187-18 ॥

गृह्णातु विधिवत पाणिम अद्यैव कुरुनन्दनः पुण्ये ऽहनि महाबाहुर अर्जुनः कुरुतां कषणम ॥ १-१८७-१९ ॥
'"O mighty-armed one, let the Kuru prince Arjuna take my daughter's hand in marriage with due rites on this auspicious day. Let him, therefore, perform the customary initiatory rites of marriage."' ॥ 1-187-19 ॥

ततस तम अब्रवीद राजा धर्मपुत्रॊ युधिष्ठिरः ममापि दारसंबन्धः कार्यस तावद विशां पते ॥ १-१८७-२० ॥
'Vaisampayana continued, 'Hearing these words of Drupada, the virtuous king Yudhishthira replied, saying, "O great king, I too must marry."' ॥ 1-187-20 ॥
