अवहास्या भविष्यन्ति बराह्मणाः सर्वराजसु कर्मण्य अस्मिन्न असंसिद्धे चापलाद अपरीक्षिते ॥ १-१७९-६ ॥

'If he fails in this untested endeavor, undertaken perhaps due to youthful recklessness, it will bring ridicule upon all the Brahmanas present before these assembled monarchs.' ॥ 1-179-6 ॥

avahAsyA bhaviSyanti barAhmaNAH sarvarAjasu karmaNya asminna asaMsiddhe cApalAda aparIkSite ॥ 1-179-6 ॥

यद्य एष दर्पाद धर्षाद वा यदि वा बरह्म चापलात परस्थितॊ धनुर आयन्तुं वार्यतां साधु मा गमत ॥ १-१७९-७ ॥

'Hence, prevent this Brahmana from attempting to string the bow, driven by vanity, juvenile audacity, or mere capriciousness.' ॥ 1-179-7 ॥

yadya eSa darpAda dharSAda vA yadi vA barahma cApalAta parasthitò dhanura AyantuM vAryatAM sAdhu mA gamata ॥ 1-179-7 ॥

नावहास्या भविष्यामॊ न च लाघवम आस्थिताः न च विद्विष्टतां लॊके गमिष्यामॊ महीक्षिताम ॥ १-१७९-८ ॥

'Others replied, "We shall not be made objects of ridicule, nor shall we incur the disrespect of anyone, including the sovereigns."' ॥ 1-179-8 ॥

के चिद आहुर युवा शरीमान नागराजकरॊपमः पीनस्कन्धॊरु बाहुश च धैर्येण हिमवान इव ॥ १-१७९-९ ॥

'Some remarked, "This handsome youth resembles the trunk of a mighty elephant, with well-built shoulders, arms, and thighs, displaying patience akin to the Himalayas."' ॥ 1-179-9 ॥

ke cida Ahura yuvA zarImAna nAgarAjakaròpamaH pInaskandhòru bAhuza ca dhairyeNa himavAna iva ॥ 1-179-9 ॥

संभाव्यम अस्मिन कर्मेदम उत्साहाच चानुमीयते शक्तिर अस्य महॊत्साहा न हय अशक्तः सवयं वरजेत ॥ १-१७९-१० ॥

'His stride resembles that of a lion, and his strength is akin to that of an elephant in rut. His resolute demeanor suggests a high likelihood of accomplishing this task. He possesses both strength and determination; otherwise, he would not undertake this endeavor voluntarily.' ॥ 1-179-10 ॥

saMbhAvyama asmina karmedama utsAhAca cAnumIyate zaktira asya mahòtsAhA na haya azaktaH savayaM varajeta ॥ 1-179-10 ॥
