ते तु दृष्ट्वा पुरं तच च सकन्धावारं च पाण्डवाः कुम्भकारस्य शालायां निवेशं चक्रिरे तदा ॥ १-१७६-६ ॥
'And upon beholding the capital and its fort, they lodged in the house of a potter.' ॥ 1-176-6 ॥

तत्र भैक्षं समाजह्रुर बराह्मीं वृत्तिं समाश्रिताः तांश च पराप्तांस तदा वीराञ जज्ञिरे न नराः कव चित ॥ १-१७६-७ ॥
'Adopting the Brahmanical way of life, they began to live by alms. During their stay in Drupada's capital, none recognized those heroes.' ॥ 1-176-7 ॥

यज्ञसेनस्य कामस तु पाण्डवाय किरीटिने कृष्णां दद्याम इति सदा न चैतद विवृणॊति सः ॥ १-१७६-८ ॥
'Yajnasena desired to give Krishna, the one with the crown, to the Pandava. However, he never revealed this.' ॥ 1-176-8 ॥

सॊ ऽनवेषमाणः कौन्तेयान पाञ्चाल्यॊ जनमेजय दृढं धनुर अनायम्यं कारयाम आस भारत ॥ १-१७६-९ ॥
'O Janamejaya, the king of Panchala, contemplating Arjuna, had a very tough bow made that no one else could bend except Arjuna.' ॥ 1-176-9 ॥

यन्त्रं वैहायसं चापि कारयाम आस कृत्रिमम तेन यन्त्रेण सहितं राजा लक्ष्यं च काञ्चनम ॥ १-१७६-१० ॥
'He also had an artificial mechanical device made. With the aid of that device, the king could hit a golden target.' ॥ 1-176-10 ॥
