[य] परमं भॊ गमिष्यामॊ दरष्टुं देवमहॊत्सवम भवद्भिः सहिताः सर्वे कन्यायास तं सवयंवरम ॥ १-१७६-१ ॥
'Vaisampayana said, "Thus addressed by the Brahmanas, the Pandavas, O Janamejaya, proceeded to the land of the Southern Panchalas, ruled by King Drupada."' ॥ 1-176-1 ॥
english translation
[ya] paramaM bhò gamiSyAmò daraSTuM devamahòtsavama bhavadbhiH sahitAH sarve kanyAyAsa taM savayaMvarama ॥ 1-176-1 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptततस ते तं महात्मानं शुद्धात्मानम अकल्मषम ददृशुः पाण्डवा राजन पथि दवैपायनं तदा ॥ १-१७६-२ ॥
'And on their way, those heroes beheld the illustrious Dwaipayana, the sage of pure soul and perfect sinlessness.' ॥ 1-176-2 ॥
english translation
tatasa te taM mahAtmAnaM zuddhAtmAnama akalmaSama dadRzuH pANDavA rAjana pathi davaipAyanaM tadA ॥ 1-176-2 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptतस्मै यथावत सत्कारं कृत्वा तेन च सान्त्विताः कथान्ते चाभ्यनुज्ञाताः परययुर दरुपद कषयम ॥ १-१७६-३ ॥
'Duly saluting the Rishi and being saluted by him, they took their leave after the conversation ended and, as commanded by him, proceeded to Drupada's abode.' ॥ 1-176-3 ॥

tasmai yathAvata satkAraM kRtvA tena ca sAntvitAH kathAnte cAbhyanujJAtAH parayayura darupada kaSayama ॥ 1-176-3 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptपश्यन्तॊ रमणीयानि वनानि च सरांसि च तत्र तत्र वसन्तश च शनैर जग्मुर महारथाः ॥ १-१७६-४ ॥
'The mighty chariot-warriors traveled slowly, pausing to stay amidst the beautiful woods and by the fine lakes they encountered along the way.' ॥ 1-176-4 ॥

pazyantò ramaNIyAni vanAni ca sarAMsi ca tatra tatra vasantaza ca zanaira jagmura mahArathAH ॥ 1-176-4 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptसवाध्यायवन्तः शुचयॊ मधुराः परियवादिनः आनुपूर्व्येण संप्राप्ताः पाञ्चालान कुरुनन्दनाः ॥ १-१७६-५ ॥
'Devoted to study, pure in their practices, amiable, and sweet-spoken, the Pandavas eventually entered the land of the Panchalas.' ॥ 1-176-5 ॥
